Rain or snow?

Another mild day is in store for tomorrow with sunny skies and temps in the mid and upper 40's. Then a storm will come up the coast on Sunday, with precip overspreading the area by nightfall. It will start as rain, then gradually change to snow from NW to SE. It now appears that temps will be a bit warmer during the storm than thought yesterday, so the changeover will take longer. That will cut down on snowfall totals in Boston. In the Boston area 1-3 inches are expected with 3-6 NW of 495, and 6-8 in southern NH. This could easily change, so stay tuned for details.

Local forecast:

Tonight: Cloudy early, then clearing. Lows in the mid to upper 20's.

Saturday: Another mild day with sunny skies and high of 47. West wind of 10-15 MPH.

Saturday night: Becoming mostly cloudy, lows in the upper 20's.

Sunday: Cloudy. High 38. NE wind of 10-15 MPH.

Sunday: Rain arriving by 6 PM, then continuing and becoming heavy at times until 11 PM. Then the rain will gradually change to snow from NW to SE. Windy with lows in the upper 20's to the low 30's. NE wind of 10-20 MPH shifting to NW at 15-25 MPH.

MLK day: Snow ending from west to east by noon. Highs in the mid 30's. NW wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH. Total amounts of 1-3 inches in Boston and 3-6 inches NW of 495.
