A powerful storm will come into the area on Wednesday leading to heavy rain. It may begin with a mix with wet snowflakes, but it won't amount to anything. Winds will gust out of the east pushing the rain/snow line all the way to southern NH. Scattered rain showers will last thru Thursday as the storm hangs around.

Forecast Shift
The latest guidance is that the storm will be less intense than I thought. So, that means that snow totals won't be as high as I was thinking over the last couple of days. It also means more rain will mix with the snow.And, It will end up being a long duration storm along with the borderline temps for snow in Boston. It also means that the wind and coastal flooding won't be as high.

Tricky Forecast
Friday will be a dry day with less wind. Then a storm will come up the coast and give us another coastal storm. But, with no cold air to the north there will be a rain/snow line that will set up very close to Boston. Just a slight shift in conditions could mean the difference of close to 10 inches of snow or 5 inches of very wet snow in the city with much more just to the NW.

Weekend Nor'easter
Thursday will another windy day with temps near freezing, Friday will be a bit warmer with temps rising well into the 30's. Then a powerful storm will come up the coast and give us a major storm. At this point several inches of snow are possible, with more possible if we can hold down the mixing in Boston. Still a tough call on how close the rain/snow line comes to Boston.

Dry Tuesday
Dense fog tonight will gradually diminish overnight. Then an area of High pressure will come into the area and temps will once again rise into the 40's. Wednesday will be another day before a storm makes a close pass Wednesday night. At this point a grazing is likely with a few inches possible.

The Week Ahead
A warm front will cross the area on Monday with rain showers. It may start as ice NW of Boston before changing to rain there. The rain may cause some flooding on the roads because of the melting snow. Tuesday and Wednesday will be warmer with temps reaching the 40's. There is a threat for another ocean storm on Thursday.

Moving On
After the major Blizzard that dumped 2 Feet or more in most areas Sunday will feature sunny skies and normal winter temps. Then, a much weaker storm will deliver rain to the area on Monday which may cause some flooding problems.

Blizzard Update
Well, the height of the storm has arrived in the Boston area with reports of up to 10 inches reported in the area already. Thunder snow has also been reported and snow rates up to 4 inches per hour. Wind gusts have also reached 60 MPH on the Cape and 55 in Boston. The heaviest Snow will continue thru the night and into the first part of Saturday. Winds will slowly subside during the day, as the storm slowly pulls away. The worst coastal flooding will be at the 10 AM high tide on Saturday.

1000th POST!!!-Blizzard Forecast
A major nor'easter will track up the coast and give us a historic blizzard. During the day on Friday snow will overspread the area and roads will become snow covered and dangerous. Friday night will be the height of the storm with blizzard conditions. Saturday will also be bad with heavy snow and strong winds will last well into the day. Coastal flooding will also be a major issue with major coastal flooding in some areas. I suggest to stay off the roads starting Friday afternoon and thru the day on Saturday.

Blizzard Friday Night!
Thursday will be the calm before the storm with temps holding in the 20's. Thursday night will also be dry. Then a powerful storm will come up the coast and hammer New England and Boston with an epic blizzard. Snow rates may reach 2 or 3 inches per hour during the height of the storm Friday night. Also strong winds out of the NE will lead to whiteout conditions for several hours. The wind off the water will also cause major coastal flooding during the time of high tide. I highly suggest to stay off the roads starting Friday afternoon.

Nor'easter Friday?
Snow showers will put down another coating tonight as a front comes thru. Temps on Wednesday will rise well into the 30's with increasing sunshine. Clouds will start to gather on Thursday with temps in the 20's. Then a powerful storm will make a close pass to New England on Friday. At this point it seems a strong nor'easter is quite likely with heavy snows and damaging winds. Stay tuned for further updates over the next few days.

Snow Update
