Snow Update

Temps have stayed near freezing this evening, but as the heavy snow sets in temps will fall into the upper 20's. Thunder snow has been reported around Long Island, NY so the energy is there for a good amount of snow in a short time. Winds will howl all night long, especially near the waters edge.

Alerts:

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Boston area until 10 AM Thursday.

Timeline: Tonight

11 PM-6AM: Heavy snow and strong winds create whiteout conditions at times. Temps fall into the upper 20's.

8 AM: Snow ends in Boston. Not much more snow during the commute.

Amounts: Inches

7-10+: The Boston Metro are points south. About 8 inches in JP. Some towns south of the city may pick up a foot of snow.

4-7: North and west of 128.

Winds: NE turing to NW.

50 MPH: The outer Cape and Nantucket.

40 MPH: The Boston area.

A forecast for the rest of the week tomorrow.
