Wet, Not White

Temps this afternoon have risen to around 40, as the wind has shifted to the SW. Temps have risen very quickly considering it was as low as 2 above zero this morning in Orange, MA, and many suburbs were in the mid teens. The rain has already arrived in Albany and Worcester and Boston are next in line- the rain should reach Boston at around 4 PM. It may start as brief period of wet snow north and west of 495. Otherwise, all rain is expected with this event.

Local forecast:


This afternoon: Rain arriving from west to east by 5 PM, except a brief period of snow NW of 495. High 44. South winds of 10-15 MPH.

Tonight: Rain until 1 AM, then partial clearing. Lows in the low to mid 30's.

Monday: Partly to mostly sunny and warmer. High 47. NW winds of 10-20 MPH.

Monday night: Becoming cloudy with precipitation possible. Lows in the 30's.

Tuesday: Cloudy with showers possible early possibly changing to snow by evening. High near 40. Stay tuned for details.

World weather:
Wind chills in the northern plain states this morning were as low as 54 below zero! Parts of New York state picked up 4 feet of lake effect snow over the last couple of days.
