Very cold!

Tonight will be the coldest night so far with all areas in the single numbers and teens. Thursday will not break 20 in some areas, as the arctic air invades the region. Friday and Saturday will be cold as well, then all eyes will turn to a storm to the south. The storm will come up the coast and make its closest past on Sunday, but it is still unclear how close it will come. It does seems likely that some snow will fall on Sunday, but the exact track will determine how much. There is no doubt that it will remain cold well into next week.

Local forecast:

Tonight: Frigid with a chance of a snow shower this evening, then partly cloudy. Lows near 9 in most suburbs to 14 in JP, and 17 Downtown. The wind gusting over 30 MPH will make it feel below 0 at times after midnight.

Thursday: Very cold, sunny and windy. High 21. NW winds gusting to 40 MPH in the morning, then gradually diminishing. Wind chill values as low as 5 below before 9 AM.

Thursday night: Clear, lows near 13 in Boston, 11 in JP, and single numbers elsewhere.

Friday: Sunny, but still very cold. High 26.

Saturday: Sunny, then increasing clouds. Highs near 30.

Sunday: Watching coastal storm, but some snow is likely. Highs in the low 30's. Stay tuned for details.
