Getting Better
High pressure will dominate the weather on Thursday with sunny skies and temps nearing 30. On Friday temps will finally rise above freezing along with clouds. That means that some rain is possible over the weekend as temps soar into the 40's.

Grazed
A storm will make a close pass to the area overnight and hit the Cape and Islands with a couple inches of snow. In Boston some light snow is possible, but it won't amount to much. The sun will come out on Wednesday and temps will hold in the 20's. However, by Thursday highs will reach closer to 30.

Still Cold
Tuesday will be another cold day along with some sun. However, a storm will make a close pass to the area on Tuesday night. Back To School

Storm Update
The latest storm track is a little further SE, meaning lower totals NW of Boston. But, south of Boston some areas will get a foot of snow. And at least 6 inches in Boston is still expected. The snow will end by early in the morning in Boston as the steadiest snow will fall on the South Shore and Cape. Also, expect dangerous wind chills on Wednesday morning as the wind picks up.

Surprise Snow
Temps dropped close to freezing this afternoon and any rain changed to snow-even here in JP. We got around 2 inches in the city. However, some of the northern and western suburbs picked up several inches. Now, another weak system may bring a passing snow shower on Sunday, but most of the day is just mostly cloudy. A surprise snow event has hit the Boston area this afternoon. The snow is expected to last into the evening before tapering off. I am expecting an inch or 2 here in Boston, but not too far to the NW 4-7 inches are possible.

Mainly Rain
A storm system will bring mostly rain to the Boston area on Saturday. However, some wet snow may mix in at times in the morning. Sunday will feature mostly cloudy skies along with temps close to normal. Then a strong cold front will cross the area on Monday. After that frigid air will come back into New England.

Storm Out To Sea
It now looks like the storm will stay out to sea, but it may come just close enough to give us a passing rain shower. On Friday temps will rise back into the mid 40's along with some sun. Over the weekend another storm may make a close pass to the area.

1300th Post!!!
This is my 1300th post since I started my blog and plan to continue to write through the rest of 2014 and beyond. Thanks for checking out my weather blog. As for the weather Monday will be a nice January day with sunny skies and temps will close in on 50. A storm will pass to our west leading to periods of rain Sunday afternoon thru Monday morning. Then, arctic air will come into the area after the storm and temps will crash leading to a flash freeze. After that temps will hold in the teens to near 20.

Dangerous Cold
Dangerous cold will come into New England tonight and tomorrow morning as temps drop below 0!
And, wind chills could be as low as 25 Below in some towns. On Saturday temps will recover a little bit into the mid 20's. Then SW winds will bring in warmer air on Sunday leading to rain on Monday.

Blizzard Update
Heavy snow has fallen during the day today more than expected. About 2 FEET of snow has fallen in some areas north of Boston. And, about a foot has fallen in the JP area. Now, heavy snow will last until the morning with several more inches likely. Also, temps will be below 0 and wind chills as low as 25 Below!

Snowstorm Update
A powerful nor'easter will hit the area with heavy snow and strong winds. And it now appears that the storm will track closer to the area and around a foot of snow is now expected. The snow will start tonight and last into Friday midday. But the height of the storm will be Thursday night thru Friday morning when near blizzard conditions are expected. And, moderate coastal flooding is likely along the coast.
