It will be cold and dry for the next 2 days, then a potent storm will come all the way across the country and pass well to the south of the region on Friday. The likely scenario at this point is that the storm will provide the area will have some snow on Friday morning with a few inches possible, especially south of the Pike. A track closer may bring heavier snow totals to more of the region.
Local Forecast:
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a chance of a snow shower before 9 PM. Lows near 25 in Boston, 23 in JP and 17 in the suburbs. Light NW wind.
Wednesday: Becoming mostly sunny, high 32. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.
Wednesday night: Clear, lows in the teens.
Thursday: Sunny, highs near 30.
Friday: Watching a potential storm. At this point some light snow is likely with some accumulation. Highs in the 20's to near 30.
The Weekend Outlook:
Arctic Air will come in behind the storm, as highs may not reach 20 over the weekend along with sunny skies.
Weather News: Coldest air of the season coming over the eastern third of the nation. The temp in northern Minnesota hit 40 below on Monday morning, and a high of only 15 can be expected tomorrow as far south as West Virgina. The freeze is expected to reach Florida as well, as the forecast low in Orlando tonight is 25, with even colder air in store for the South this weekend. Also, Seoul, South Korea set the record for the all time snowfall with nearly a foot of snow yesterday! And Beijing, China hit a record low of -8!
