Snow Details

A storm in the Midwest will run out of steam when it reaches us on Friday. That will provide the area with light snow throughout the day. However, there will be pauses in the snow. Then, even colder air will come in behind the storm. 

Timeline: Temps in the mid to upper 20's. 

8AM: Snow arrives in Worcester. 

9 AM: Snow arrives in Boston.

9AM-7PM: Periods of light snow. 

Amounts: 

1 inch: Most of the Boston area. 

1-2: The Cape and Islands. 

Weekend Forecast: 

Friday night: A chance of a snow shower before 10 PM, then clearing. Lows in the teens. NW wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Saturday: Sunny and cold. High 28. NW wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Sunday: Sunny, high 24. 

Weather News: The cold air has continued to dip into the southern US, as the high in Dallas, TX today only reached freezing. As far south as Kansas temps did not go above 20, and the High in Denver, CO today was 9. In Minneapolis, MN it did not make it above 5, and towns just over the border of Canada did not make it above 0. The core of the arctic air will head towards the Southeastern states, and not towards New England.
