Following Danny
Tropical storm Danny currently has maximum winds of 60 MPH, a tropical storm. There has been a shift in the track since yesterday. Most of the models have it stregnthening into a hurricane, then passing about 50 miles SE of nantucket. That would bring up to 5 inches of rain to the Cape and islands. Gusty winds up to 55 mph or so on the cape would occur as it races past the Cape. In Boston, we would have heavy rain, up to about 2 inches, and gust winds up to about 30 MPH. However, we are still in the cone, so any shift to the west would bring hurricane force winds to the cape, and most of the Mass. coastline. Another update tonight.

Hey Nolan -
ReplyDeleteLove your blog - any thoughts/opinions about how Danny looks like it might effect New Hampshire over the weekend (especially the Franconia Notch area)?
Heavy rain on Saturday from a storm moving in from the west. Danny and the storm will combine into one huge rain maker right on top of us. However, there will be little wind in NH. Sunday will be better, with some sun and just a chance of a shower. Stay dry on the trail!
ReplyDeleteLittle wind is good! Thanks!
