Storm Update

A powerful nor'easter will bring rain, damaging winds and coastal flooding to the area tonight into Friday. The height of the storm will be during the day on  Friday. As winds will become damaging and the rain will increase. Coastal flooding is likely during the Friday morning high tide.

A High Wind Warning is in effect for the Cape and Islands

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the coast

A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect for t he coast- including Boston

 Tonight: Rain and windy.  Near steady temps around 40.

Friday: Rain and wind continue.

Friday night :Rain and wind taper off.

Peak Wind Gusts :

Cape and Islands: 60 MPH

Rest of coast- including Boston: 50 MPH

Inland :40 MPH

1-2 inches:  The Boston area

1/2-1 inch: Further inland

Waves;

25 FEET; Along the coast

50 FEET; Center of the storm offshore

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with highs in the mid 40's.

Sunday ;Partly sunny with highs in  the mid 50's.
