Severe Storms Recap

Severe thunderstorms hit the area last night. The earliest severe thunderstorm watch in history was issued for Boston around 1 AM. And a severe thunderstorm warning was issued around 3 AM. The storm produced loud thunder, lightning and damaging winds. Now, cooler air will gradually come into the area. And the weekend will be dry.

Peak Wind Gusts:

Blue Hills: 83 MPH.
Boston: 69 MPH
Brookline: 65 MPH
Fall River: 63 MPH
Chestnut Hill: 61 MPH.

Boston forecast:

Rest of Today: Partly to mostly sunny. High 57. SW wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low of 32. West wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high of 40.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30's.

Sunday: Sunny and warm. Highs in the mid 50's.

Monday: Partly sunny with highs in the 50's.
