Record Cold

The coldest night in years is likely as arctic air comes into the area. And a gusty wind will send wind chills even further below 0. Sunday will still be frigid, but the wind will gradually diminish. On Monday a storm will arrive late in the day. And it will likely start as snow before changing to ice and then heavy rain.

Alert:

A Wind Chill Warning remains in effect until 12 PM Sunday.

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Clear with record cold. Low 7 BELOW. NW wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH. Wind chill values as low as 30 BELOW.

Sunday: Sunny and frigid. High 10. NW wind of 15-25 MPH. Wind chill values as low as 30 BELOW in the morning.

Sunday night: Clear with lows BELOW 0 again.

Monday: Increasing clouds with snow likely late. Highs in the upper 20's.

Monday night: Snow changing to ice and then rain by morning. Temps rising through the 30's.

Tuesday: Rain and wind likely. Highs around 50.

Wednesday: Clearing with highs in the 40's.
