Storm Update

The snow fell steadily this afternoon and evening amounting to a few inches. Now there will be a break in the steady snow until around dawn. Then the next round of snow will arrive and become heavy along with damaging winds. That will lead to blizzard conditions. Then the skies will clear, but it will remain cold and very windy and that will cause bitter wind chills.

Alerts:
A Blizzard Warning remains in effect for the Boston area

 A Wind Chill Warning is in effect for the Boston area through Monday.

A Hurricane Force Wind is in effect for the ocean!

Rest of storm timeline:

Now Through 5 AM: Snow tapers off. Temps in the mid teens. NE wind of 15-25 MPH.

5 AM-Noon Sunday: Heavy snow and strong winds. Temps in the teens. Damaging winds continue.

2 PM: Snow ends. Temps in the teens.

8-12 +Inches: In The Boston area.

4-8 Inches: West of Worcester

Peak Wind Gusts:

75 MPH: Cape and Islands
60 MPH: Rest of coast-including Boston
50 MPH: Further inland

Rest of Week Forecast :

Sunday night: Clearing and extremely cold. Lows BELOW 0. NW wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Wind chills as low as 30 BELOW!

Monday: Mostly sunny and cold. Highs in the low teens. Wind chill as low as 30 BELOW!

Tuesday: Sunny with highs in the mid 20's.
