Frigid Friday
Squalls that came through the Boston area today marked even colder air coming into the area. As Friday will be windy and frigid along with sunny skies. Saturday will be a little better with temps recovering to near freezing. On Sunday clouds will increase ahead of our next storm threat.

More Snow

Storm Update
A powerful nor'easter will hit the area on Thursday with heavy precip and strong winds. The snow will arrive first thing in the morning and come down steadily through the morning. But, as warm air comes in off the ocean snow will change to heavy rain in Boston. And, winds will gust past 50 MPH during the height of the storm. However, as colder air comes back into the area behind the storm rain will change back to snow Thursday night.

Storm Timeline
A major winter storm will hit New England on Wednesday. The height of the storm will be from dawn through early afternoon, when snow rates could reach 1-2 inches per hour. Also, unlike past storms the snow will be heavy and wet in most of the area. And, it now looks like it could end as some sleet in Boston, but after most of the snow has fallen. Further North and West of the city will stay all snow meaning the highest snow totals will be there. However, there will be little coastal flooding with this storm.

Snowstorm Wednesday
Tuesday will be a quiet day with some sun and temps in the 30's. Clouds will continue to increase on Tuesday evening ahead of our next storm on Wednesday. An area of low pressure will come up the coast and deliver a snowstorm to the Boston area. Snow will overspread the area before dawn on Wednesday and continue through the day. However, some mixing with sleet is possible close to Boston and that will cut back on snow totals in those areas. But, at this point I am predicting an all snow event in Boston.
