While Nicole has lost its tropical circulation, it still has a lot of moisture with it as it sits just south of Miami. And, there is another gale center off the Carolina coast. The storm off the Carolina coast along with a cold front will bring heavy downpours from DC to Burlington, VT tomorrow as the storm moves northward. 6 to as much as 10 inches of rain are possible in those areas. Then, as the front sweeps towards the coast we will get in on the heavy rain on Thursday night and Friday. We will also be on the east side-which will bring damaging wind gusts even to the Boston area Thursday night into Friday morning. The remains of Nicole will make a close pass to New England coast Friday night which could bring more rain as a separate system. It is still unclear how close it will come. However, it should by dry and cool for the upcoming weekend.
Alerts:
A High Wind Watch is in effect for the entire Boston area from 5 PM Thursday to 9 AM Friday.
A Flood Watch is in effect for Western and Northern New England-including up here in Plymouth. It could be extended to the Boston area for Friday.
