Wednesday Blizzard

It now appears that the storm will track close enough to the area to provide most of the area with a good amount of snow on Wednesday afternoon and evening. The nor'easter will also bring wind gusts over 50 MPH at the coast, and coastal flooding. Also, it will bring an additional 10-20 inches of snow to DC, Baltimore and Philly, where over 2 feet are already on the ground. NYC will pick up 12-18 inches!

Boston, MA forecast:

Tonight: Mostly clear with lows near 20 in Boston and teens in the suburbs.

Tuesday: Sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds in the afternoon, highs near 35.

Tuesday night: Becoming cloudy, lows in the low to mid 20's.

Wednesday: Snow arriving from west to east by 11 AM, and becoming heavy. NE winds 25-35 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH in Boston area, and 60 MPH on the Cape. Temps around 30.


Storm timeline: For Wednesday into Thursday

10 AM: Snow arrives in Worcester.

11 Am: Snow arrives in Boston.

Noon Wednesday-3 AM Thursday: Steady to sometimes heavy snow with strong winds will create Blizzard conditions at times.

3 AM-7 AM: Some snow showers along the coast.


Snow totals: Inches- Preliminary amounts- could easily change if tracks shifts

8-14+: A line from Gloucester through Boston to Providence points south and east. Includes areas just west of 128. Cities like: Medford, Natick, Concord, Beverly, Plymouth, Brockton, Weymouth, Franklin, Reading. About 10 inches in JP.

4-8: A line from Lowell to Worcester and areas North and west of 495. Cities like Marlborough, Fitchburg, Oxford.

2-4: West of Worcester and Southern NH. Little if any snow in most ski areas (except for Blue hill)
