Mainly rain Wednesday

The storm for Wednesday will track to the west of New England allowing for strong SE winds. Those winds will bring warm air in to the area off the Atlantic. That means any snow will quickly change to rain along the coast. However, west of 495 the transition to rain may take longer. Before the changeover snow may amount to an inch or two in and around the city, and 2-4 inches west of 495. 

Tonight: Cloudy with an isolated snow shower possible, then clearing late. Lows near 30 in the city and 25 in the suburbs. 

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, highs near 40. A light NW wind.

Tuesday night: Clouds gathering with snow arriving from west to east by 4 am. 

Wednesday: Snow until 9 AM in the city, 10 Am outside of 128 and noon west of 495. Then, heavy rain and windy. High near 42 in Boston and 36 in Worcester. Snow totals of around an inch or two in the city points north and west to 495 and 2-4+ west of 495. SE winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH in the city and 50 MPH on the cape. 

Thursday: Clearing, high 40.

Friday: Arctic air begins to take hold of the region as highs may not reach 30!
