New Year's Eve Forecast

Friday will be another day of low clouds, fog, mist and drizzle. New Year's Eve will be mainly dry and balmy. Then a storm will bring rain to the area on Saturday into Sunday.  As colder air comes into the area rain may end as a brief period of snow Sunday night.

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect West of Boston for tonight. 

Boston forecast: 

Tonight; Dense fog with scattered showers, mist and drizzle. Near steady temps around 40. 

Friday;  Low clouds and fog with scattered showers, mist and drizzle. High 45. NE wind of 10 -20 MPH. 

First Night Timeline: For Boston 

6 PM: Cloudy and misty with at temp of 42 

8 PM: Cloudy with a temp around 40. 

10 PM: Arears of fog with a temp around 40.
