An Icy Christmas

 Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for checking out my blog. A storm will bring freezing rain and rain to the area on Christmas Day. Freezing rain will last for several hours-even in Boston. A tenth of an inch of ice or more appears likely. North and West of Boston cold air could hold on much longer leading to ice most of the day. I suggest delaying travel  as ice will coat roads and sidewalks.

Alert;

 A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for  all of the Boston area until 10 AM Christmas day.

Boston forecast;

Tonight: Freezing rain late. Low 25. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Christmas Day;  Freezing rain until 10 AM, then rain. High 38. North wind of 10-20 MPH early, changing to SE at 10-20 MPH. Total ice amounts of around a tenth of an inch in Boston.

Saturday night;  More rain and freezing rain likely. Lows in the low 30's.

Sunday; Becoming partly sunny. Highs in the low 40's.

Monday; Sunny with highs in the upper 30's.

Tuesday; Sunny with highs in the 40's.
