Nor'easter Update

 The snow has started falling in the Boston area as of 10 PM  The snow will quickly become heavy and last all night and through the morning before tapering off by mid afternoon. A foot of snow or more is now likely in the Boston area. 

Alerts: 

A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect for all of the Boston area 

A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for the coast 

Storm Timeline :

Now Through 10 AM: Heavy snow and windy .Temps near 32 will fall to 25 by 10 AM. 

10 AM-3 PM: Snow gradually tapers off. Temp 22. 

3PM-6PM:: Any snow ends. Temp 20. 

Peak Wind Gusts: 

60 MPH: Cape and islands 

50 MPH: Rest of Coast 

35 MPH: Inland 

Snow Totals: 

12-16 + inches; The Boston area. Some places may get more than 16 inches. About 14 inches in JP! 

8-12 Inches;  South Shore because of a mix with rain .

4-8 inches: Parts of the south coast and cape 

Rest of Extended forecast; 

Thursday night: Clearing and windy. Lows around 20. NW wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH. 

Friday; Sunny and cold .Highs in the upper 20's 

Saturday; Sunny with highs around 30. 

Sunday;  A snow shower possible. Highs in the mid 30's .
