Drying Out
Rain changed to snow this evening and accumulated a little here in JP. And as the storm intensified there was even thunder snow. Now, winds will gust past 50 MPH tonight as skies clear. The sun will return on Friday along with gusty winds. Over the weekend some light snow is likely.

Mainly Rain
A powerful storm will bring mainly rain and strong winds to the Boston area. It may start out as snow late morning but will quickly change to rain. Heavy rain will continue through the evening. As the storm passes to our north winds will change to the west leading to colder air coming back into the area. So it may end as snow before ending.

Some Snow

Snow Forecast
Wednesday will be a nice day for travel in New England as it will be sunny with light winds. Then a weak system will effect the area on Thanksgiving Day. Falling Temps

Rainy Sunday
A front will combine with moisture from Hurricane Matthew on the east coast to bring us rain on Sunday. As Hurricane Matthew is still a category 1 Hurricane on the North Carolina coast. As the storm heads out to sea the front will steal rain from the Hurricane and bring it into eastern New England.

Some Rain
The latest forecast for Hurricane Matthew has changed a bit. The latest track still sends the Hurricane to North Carolina and then track to the east. But, the storm may come further north than expected. Although it won't make it far enough north to bring winds it may add rain to a front coming through Saturday night into Sunday.

Major Shift
There has been a major shift in the track of Matthew. The storm will strike the east coast of Florida over the next few days with major Hurricane conditions. However, once it reaches the Carolinas it will track east and not come up the coast. So, it looks like a dry weekend.

Matthew Update
Hurricane Matthew now has winds of 145 MPH as it heads for Haiti. It will strike eastern Cuba on Tuesday before coming into the Bahamas by mid week. It will threaten the Carolinas by the end of the week. It will make its closest pass to New England by the weekend. However, at this time is too early to determine its effects. Hurricane Matthew
Major Hurricane Matthew now has winds of 160 MPH in the Caribbean! That makes it a Category 5 Hurricane- the highest on the scale. The latest track sends near Jamaica this weekend as a major Hurricane. And it will then approach the Bahamas by early next week. It may threaten the East coast after that-but it is a little to early to know what the final track will be. Meanwhile, rain will continue during the day on Saturday. Some showers will linger into Sunday.

Frost Advisory
A Frost Advisory has been issued for portions of the suburbs tonight as temps dip into the low to mid 30's there. Temps will hold in the low to mid 40's in Boston. On Monday it will be sunny and cool. Then a stalled front will bring some much needed rain for the mid week.

A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the South coast, Cape and Islands for Monday. The latest track takes it just south of New England over the next few days. That will lead to periods of rain and gusty winds in the Boston area. Although, the worst of the storm will be south of Boston.

Hermine Forecast
Hermine is now a post Tropical Storm with winds of 70 MPH. The latest track takes it up the coast and stalls it off the coast of New Jersey late on Sunday. That track will bring tropical rains and gusty winds Sunday night into Monday. Then, it will track NE and towards the MA coastline by Wednesday. So. another period of rain and wind is possible.

Tropical Storm Watch
A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the South Coast, Cape and Islands for Tropical Storm Hermine. Winds may gust as high as 50-55 MPH there on Labor Day. In Boston I expect wind gusts of 40 MPH or so. Stay tuned for a full Tropical Storm Hermine forecast later tonight.

Hermine Update
Tropical Storm Hermine now has winds of 50 MPH in the Carolinas. The latest track takes the storm back over the water and will start to make its way north. And it is expected to re-strengthen to a Hurricane. However, a block on the east coast will stall the storm to the south of New England. At this point it looks to stall a bit to far south to have a major impact in the Boston area. But, a slight shift north could change that.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low of 58.
Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high of 73. NE wind of 10-20 MPH.
Saturday night: Increasing clouds with lows around 60.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy and breezy. Highs around 70.
Sunday night: Rain likely arrives along with some wind as Hermine stalls to our south.

Hurricane Hermine
Hurricane Hermine has winds of 80 MPH as it makes landfall in the Panhandle of Florida. The latest track takes it up the east coast the next few days. By Sunday it will stall on the east coast as a Tropical Storm. Where it stalls will determine our impacts here in New England. At this point it looks like a minor impact with rain and gusty winds late Sunday into Monday. But a slight shift could change it. Stay tuned for further updates.
