SPECIAL-Boston 2010-11 Winter Forecast

The past few winters have had most snow at the start of winter, and the latest data support that for this winter as well. Although a snowy March is also predicted after a mid-winter thaw. For this winter I will predict snow for the immediate Boston area (inside 128). If you would like totals for another part of MA, let me know and I will gladly predict snowstorm totals.

Here are my avg high and snowfall totals for each month:

November: Normals

Avg High: 52

Avg Snow: 1.3 inches

My November prediction:

Avg High: 50

Snow total: 2.5

December Normals: Winter begins on Dec. 22

Avg high: 43

Avg Snow: 7.5 inches

My December Predictions:

Avg high: 39

Snow total: 14 inches


January normals:

Avg High: 37

Avg snow: 11.3

My January 2011 prediction

Avg high: 40

Snow total: 10 inches

February normals:

Avg high: 39

Avg snow: 14.5

My Feb 2011 predicitons:

Avg high: 44

Snow total: 7 inches

March normals:

Avg high: 46

Avg snow: 8.1

My March 2011 predictions:

Avg High: 42

Snow total: 12 inches

Final snow total for Boston avg: 41.8 inches
