A ice storm will impact Southern New England on Friday. Rain has arrived today and will continue overnight. Then, temps will crash by the morning commute and any standing water will freeze solid. And rain will rapidly change to freezing rain in the Boston area by 8 AM. And it now appears that freezing rain will last most of the day and will change to sleet before ending. Snow is no longer expected. Freezing rain amounts look to be around a .25 of an inch. That is not quite enough to cause power outages, However, it will make driving very difficult. I highly suggest staying home all day on Friday.
Alerts;
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect NW of Worcester
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the rest of the Boston area.
