Ice Storm Possible

 A powerful front will bring a mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow to the area Thursday afternoon through Friday. Unfortunately, it now appears that most of the precip will now fall as freezing rain and sleet. As temps at the surface will be below freezing, but not above. So, an ice storm now appears likely on Friday. It will start early and end by early evening.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Boston and points north for Friday. 

Boston forecast; 

Tonight: Areas of low clouds and dense fog. Near steady temps around 35. South wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Thursday; Scattered rain showers in the morning, then rain the afternoon. High 45. SW wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Thursday night: Rain until 6 AM, then freezing rain and sleet. Temps near 43 early will crash to 30 by dawn. North wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Friday; Freezing rain and sleet until 3 PM, then scattered snow. Temps FALLING to 20 by 5 PM. Total ice accumulations of 0.2-0.4 inches. And total snow and sleet accumulations of 1-3 inches. Stay tuned! 

Friday night: Clearing and cold. Lows around 12. 

Saturday; Sunny and windy. Highs in the low 20's. 

Sunday; Sunny with highs in the upper 20's.
