Storm Alerts

The heaviest rain has held off for the most part near Boston today, but the wind has been increasing.  Later, a squall line will come thru tonight with the threat of damaging winds. There is the potential for severe thunderstorms as well as the line comes thru. The worst of the storm should be over by the morning drive.

Alerts:

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the Boston area until 3 AM tonight.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for parts of Western New England.

A High Wind Warning is in effect until 6 AM Wednesday for the Boston area.

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Rain with thunderstorms. Very windy with a low of 67. South wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Total rainfall of 1-2 inches expected.

Wednesday: Showers with isolated thunderstorms until 9 AM, then becoming mostly sunny. High 73. NW wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH.

Wednesday night: Clear and cool. Lows in the 40's

Thursday: Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60's .

Friday: Partly sunny with highs in the low 70's.

Saturday: Partly sunny with highs in the 60's.

Sunday: Showers possible. Highs in the 70's.
