Storm Thursday

After the snow this morning, the sun came out and quickly melted any snow left. Colder air will come in on Wednesday setting the stage for a storm. Precip will start as snow late at night, before changing to heavy rain first thing in the morning. The heaviest rain should wind down by early afternoon.

Alerts:

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect NW of Boston for Thursday.

A High Wind Watch is in effect for the Cape and Islands.

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Clear with lows near 25.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high of 37. East wind of 10-20 MPH.

Wednesday night: Increasing clouds until 3 AM, then rain mixed with snow. Lows in the low 30's. East wind of 15-20 MPH. Snow may coat the ground in the Boston area.

Thursday: Rain mixed with wet snow until 7 AM, then rain. Windy with highs around 40. NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH. Any snow washed away by rain.

Friday: Cloudy with scattered snow squalls in the morning, then partly sunny. Highs around 40.

Saturday: Sunny with highs in the low 30's.

Sunday: Sunny with highs in the 30's.
