A powerful storm will ride up the coast and give us an early season snowstorm. The latest track sends it near the sweet spot for usual snow events. But, because of the warmer ocean temps winds off the water will cut down on snow totals along the coast-including the city. However, a slight shift NW or SE could change snow totals. Also, winds may gust to 60 MPH in the Boston area leading to widespread power outages. This storm will break records up and down the east coast, with more than a foot of snow possible in some places.
Alerts:
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect NW of 495.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect closer to the city.
A High Wind Watch is in effect for the coast-including Boston
A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect for major coastal flooding along the shore.
