Tracking Thunder

After a great start to the holiday weekend, a cool front will come into the area on Sunday. This will lead to widespread thunderstorms in the afternoon-some could be severe. This could interfere with some fireworks displays around the area. On the 4th an isolated storm is possible before the Boston fireworks, but most places will stay dry.


Boston, MA forecast:

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a with a low of 63.

Sunday: Partly sunny until 3 PM, then widespread severe thunderstorms. Breezy with a high of 83. SW wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH. Some thunderstorms will produce small hail, gusty winds and frequent lightning.

Sunday night: Scattered severe thunderstorms until 10 PM, then mostly cloudy. Muggy with lows in the mid 60's. Some thunderstorms will produce small hail, gusty winds and frequent lightning.

4th of July Timeline:

Morning: Early fog leads to sun by mid morning. Temps in the 70's.

Afternoon: A mix of sun and clouds with a small risk of a thunderstorm. Temps near 80 at the beaches and 88 inland. A light SE wind.

Evening: Any isolated thunder should fade early leading to partly cloudy skies and temps in the 80's. Should be good visibility for fireworks. Happy 4th everyone!
