Warm First Night

Warm air will surge up the east coast for New Year's weekend, and temps will be in the 40's for first night activities. 2011 will start with temps in the 50's, even though clouds will rule.  A cold front will come through on Sunday, bringing cold air behind it. We will remain in a mainly quiet pattern for the next week or so-other than the spotty showers on Sunday with the cold front.

Boston, MA forecast: 

Tonight: Clear with a wide range in temps again. Lows near 29 in Boston, 22 in JP and 12 in the coldest suburbs. 

Friday: Partly to mostly cloudy and warm. High 47. SW wind of 10-15 MPH. 

First night timeline: 

Early Fireworks ( 7 PM): 45 and partly cloudy 
9 PM: 43  and partly cloudy 
11 PM: 41 and partly cloudy 
2011!: Good viewing for fireworks and temps near 40

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with fog. Highs in the low 50's. 

Mom's Birthday: Cloudy with scattered showers-mainly in the morning. Highs around 50 with fog. 

US weather: A warm surge is invading the eastern area of the country. Temps in the 60's will be possible as far north as the Tennessee area. Meanwhile, arctic cold and snow are coming into the west- as snow is possible as far south as New Mexico.
