Thunderous Thursday

A series of cold fronts will affect the area over the next couple of days. Thursday will start out hazy, but become more overcast as the front approaches. Some thunderstorms will be severe, but they will be scattered around the area. The next front comes through on Saturday with more scattered showers. Sunday will be unsettled as well.

Boston, MA forecast:

Tonight: Partly cloudy with lows around 60.

Thursday: Hazy sunshine until 2 PM, then scattered severe thunderstorms. Humid with highs near 72 Downtown, 78 in JP and 84 inland. SW wind of 15-25 MPH. Some thunderstorms will produce frequent lightning, small hail and wind gusts over 60 MPH.

Thursday night: Showers and Thunderstorms. Breezy with lows in the mid 60's. West wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.

Friday: Showers possible before 9 AM, then clearing with lower humidity. Highs in the mid 70's.

Saturday: A slow moving front approaches the area with showers likely at any time of the day. However, several hours will be dry so I am not forecasting a total washout. Highs around 70.

Sunday: Showers and storms likely again -mainly in the afternoon. Humid with highs in the upper 70's.

Tropics: The Atlantic is quiet, however Tropical Cyclone Phet is in the Arabian sea just south of Oman. It is a major Cyclone with winds of 145 MPH,  a category 4 storm! It may become a Cat. 5 storm before taking a turn and brushing Oman and making landfall in Pakistan. This will cause major flooding, as well as major structural damage to the area.
