Rain is certain, but what about SNOW?

Tonight will be the coldest night of the season so far with most areas dropping in to the low to mid 20's, although around 35 Downtown. Tuesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds and temps around 45. Wednesday will have increasing clouds as the next storm approaches. The storm will bring heavy rain on Wednesday night and Thursday morning along with SE winds gusting over 50 MPH! Some coastal flooding is probable for south facing beaches. Behind the storm very cold air will come in for the weekend as a storm rolls up the coast. It may be cold enough to support snow...something to watch closely.

Potential record: The latest freeze (32 or below) ever recorded for Boston is Dec. 2. It has not reached 32 yet at Logan, and it will likely not make it tonight or Tuesday night. That means a new record will be set!

Boston, MA forecast:

Tonight: Rain over SE mass until 9 PM, otherwise clearing and turning colder. Lows near 35 Downtown, 32 in JP and 24 in most suburbs.

Tuesday: A blend of sun and clouds. High 45. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, lows near 35 Downtown, 32 in JP and 27 in most outline areas.

Wednesday: Sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds. High 52.

Thursday: Heavy rain in the morning, then a few peaks of sun. Very windy and warm. High 62. SE gusts over 50 MPH.

Friday and weekend: Sunny skies and temps in the 40's on Friday. Then, temps in the 30's over the weekend along with a storm that will make a close pass to the coast on Saturday night. There is still a lot of uncertainty with the track of the storm. Stay tuned for details.
