Nor'easter Timeline

A major nor'easter will hit the area on Friday with heavy precip and damaging winds. Rain will arrive tonight and become heavy by the morning. Rain will last into the afternoon before colder air arrives and turns the rain over to snow. In addition major coastal flooding is expected along the coast for multiple high tides. And winds may gust past hurricane force in some areas.

A High Wind Warning is in effect for all of the Boston area

A Flood Watch is in effect for all of the Boston area

 A Hurricane Force Wind Warning is in effect for the ocean

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect NW of Worcester

A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect for the coast for multiple high tides


Storm Timeline: For Boston

2 AM: Rain arrives. Temp 42. NE wind increasing to 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

7AM-4 PM: Heavy rain. Temps fall to 35. NE wind increasing to 30-40 MPH with gusts to 70 MPH.

4PM: Rain changing to snow

4 PM- Midnight: Heavy snow. Temp 34. North wind of 25-35 MPH with gusts to 60 MPH.

Rest of Friday night: Snow ends. Lows in the mid 30's. North wind of 25-35 MPH with gusts to 55 MPH.

80 MPH+ Cape and Islands

70 MPH: Rest of coast-including Boston

60 MPH-Further Inland
