Nor'easter Forecast

A nor'easter will hit the area on Tuesday. However, there has been a shift in the storm track. As it now appears that the snow will mix and maybe even change to rain in Boston for a time. But, not after a good shot of snow. And winds will become damaging.

Alerts;

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Boston and points south

A Blizzard Warning is in effect west of Boston.

A High Wind Warning is in effect for parts of the coast

A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect for the coast

Tonight: Increasing clouds with a low of 25.

Storm Timeline; For Boston

7 AM: Snow arrives in Boston.

9 AM-4 PM :Heavy snow and damaging winds. Temps rising to 35. Snow rates of 3-4 inches per hour possible!

5 PM- 8PM: Snow may change or mix with rain for a while. Temp 34.

10 PM: Any rain changes back to snow before ending. Temps fall  to 30.

75 MPH: Cape and islands

60 MPH: The coast-including Boston

50 MPH; Further Inland

Snow Totals: A tricky call

18-24 Inches: NW of rte. 495

12-18 inches: NW of rte. 128

8-12 inches: in Boston -about a foot in JP! 

Rest of week forecast:

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with highs around 30.

Thursday: Sunny with highs in the 30's.

Friday: Sunny with highs in the 30's.
