Cooler Times
Skies will clear on Thursday and cooler air will gradually come into New England. Clouds will increase on Halloween, but it should stay dry for Trick or Treat time. Warm Wednesday
Wednesday will be a warm day with lots of clouds and a chance of a shower in the afternoon as a cold front comes through. Behind the front cooler air will slowly come into New England. Up And Down
Warmer air will come into New England on Tuesday and Wednesday along with some sun. On Wednesday a cold front will cross the area leading to a passing shower. Nor'easter Update
Well the storm has intensified a little more than expected tonight leading to thunderstorms and damaging winds. The storm will rage for the rest of the night as bands of rain continues to come into the Boston area. On Thursday the rain will continue to fall, but it will taper off by afternoon. And the wind will continue to gust-especially during the morning. It will dry out by Friday, but the sun won't return until the weekend.

An area of low pressure will form along the coast and then come into New England and stall for a few days. That will lead to periods of rain and wind from Tuesday into Friday. Rain Ending
The heaviest rain has ended and clearing will come into the area by morning. Friday will stay warm behind the front along with some sun. Saturday will also be warm before another cold front comes through late in the day. Then Sunday will be much colder. And, Hurricane Gonzalo has winds of 140 MPH as it heads for Bermuda on Friday and then to Atlantic Canada. As it will bring major damage to the island of Bermuda.

Tracking Gonzalo
A powerful front along with an area of low pressure will cross the area on Thursday leading to gusty downpours. The front will cross the area on Thursday night and will help push major Hurricane Gonzalo out to sea and towards Atlantic Canada over the weekend. Here in the Boston area colder air will gradually come into the area by the end of the weekend.

Hurricane Gonzalo
Hurricane Gonzalo now has winds of 125 MPH NE of Puerto Rico. It will continue to head north and gain strength. Then it will make a very close pass to the island of Bermuda and will continue north towards Atlantic Canada. However, as a front comes in from the west it may grab some moisture from the Hurricane and bring extra moisture into New England as the front crosses Thursday night.
And, there may be some wind but the core of Gonzalo looks to stay offshore at this point.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy in the morning, then a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon. High 78. South wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH.

SPECIAL: New England Columbus Day Weekend Forecast
The fall foliage is peaking across most of New England this weekend and will continue to expand into Boston over the next few weeks. This is a forecast for the weekend for the northern lakes and mountains region where the foliage is peaking now or just past peak. I will also give my regular weekend forecast for the Boston area. On Friday clouds will increase in the Boston area, but stay sunny up north. Then rain will expand into Southern New England on Saturday morning before drying out. However, the rain will not reach Northern New England. Sunday and the holiday itself look dry throughout the area.
Northern Lakes And Mountains foliage report:
The highest peaks have already lost most of their leaves, but in most areas the reds and oranges are still great. This weekend will be great for leaf peeping. In the next week more leaves will fall and it will become less colorful.

Weekend Forecast
Some sun is likely on Friday as the storm slides further east. On Saturday a front will come in from the west and showers will arrive late in the day and last into the night. It will be bright and breezy on Sunday along with temps in the 60's.

Rain will continue through the night and into Thursday morning. Some drying is possible in the afternoon as the storms slides further east. On Friday some clearing is possible as we are in between systems. As the next system comes into the area by Saturday.
