A surprise snow event has hit the Boston area this afternoon. The snow is expected to last into the evening before tapering off. I am expecting an inch or 2 here in Boston, but not too far to the NW 4-7 inches are possible.
Alerts:
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for parts of Essex county. Around 6 inches are expected there.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect NW of Route 128. 3-5 inches will accumulate there .
