Wild Weather

I heard that big thunderstorms came through the Boston area this morning. Including many cloud to ground lightning strikes. One strike hit a house in Dorchester, another hit a building at the Forest Hills Cemetery. Thankfully, no injuries were reported there. Now, a weak trough will come into New England from the NW over the next 2 days bringing us clouds and a risk of a brief shower. The next big rain maker will arrive on Sunday with the remains of Hermine.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with highs around 70.

Saturday: The pick of the week with deep blue skies and low humidity. Highs in the low to mid 70's.

2010 summer: Warmest summer on record at Blue Hill with an average temp of 71 degrees. It was the 3rd Warmest summer on record for Boston with an average temp of 73.6 degrees. and the 4th warmest ever in the US. 25 days at Logan hit 90+, but 30 days in JP and many areas NW and west of the city. Summer is from June-August in meteorology.
