Backdoor Cold Front

A back door cold front will come down from Maine on Wednesday afternoon. It is called a back door cold front because most fronts come from the west, NW or SW. The timing is huge, but the front should come through at around 2 PM. That is after temps reach the low 90's, and mid 90's to the SW of the city. Then, cool weather will come back for Thursday and Friday before the warmth returns for Memorial Day weekend.

Highs Today:
Logan: 82
Bedford: 88
Nashua, NH: 92
JP: 94

Boston, MA forecast:

Tonight: Warm and muggy. Lows around 70.

Wednesday: Because of the warm start temps will quickly rise through the 70's and 80's and into the low to mid 90's by early afternoon. However, temps falling into the mid 70's by 6 PM along the coast, including Boston. Sunny until 2 PM, then partly sunny with a chance of a thunderstorm after 2 PM. Remaining humid through early afternoon as well.

Wednesday: A chance of a thunderstorm before 8 PM, then remaining mostly cloudy. Lows in the 50's.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a risk of a shower. Cooler with highs around 70.

Friday: Sunny with highs around 70.

Saturday: A great day to start the long holiday weekend with sunny skies and highs in the 70's.

Sunday: Sunny, highs in the 80's.

Tropics: The storm centered around 400 miles SSW of North Carolina remains disorganized, despite 40 MPH winds. It will brush the Carolina coastline with gusty winds, showers and rough surf. It will likely not become the first tropical system of the season. Scroll down to my Saturday post to see my 2010 Hurricane outlook.
