New Year's Eve Forecast

Friday will be another day of low clouds, fog, mist and drizzle. New Year's Eve will be mainly dry and balmy. Then a storm will bring rain to the area on Saturday into Sunday.  As colder air comes into the area rain may end as a brief period of snow Sunday night.

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect West of Boston for tonight.

Tonight; Dense fog with scattered showers, mist and drizzle. Near steady temps around 40. 

Friday;  Low clouds and fog with scattered showers, mist and drizzle. High 45. NE wind of 10 -20 MPH.

8 PM: Cloudy with a temp around 40. 

10 PM: Arears of fog with a temp around 40.

Scattered Showers

 Another mainly cloudy day is in store on Thursday with an afternoon shower. New Year's Eve looks to be mainly dry, but cloudy as well. Then a powerful storm will impact the area over the weekend. Rian will fall heavily at times on New Year's Day. Rain may end as snow on Sunday as cold air comes crashing in.

Tonight: Low clouds and fog with areas of drizzle. Near steady temps around 38. SE wind of 10-15 MPH. 

Thursday; Mainly cloudy with scattered afternoon showers .High 45. NW wind of 10-15 MPH. 

Thursday night: Scattered showers .Temps holding around 40. 

Friday; Mostly cloudy with a passing shower. Highs in the upper 40's. 

New Year's Eve; Should be dry with temps in the upper 30's as we welcome 2022. 

New Years' Day; Heavy rain and gusty winds likely. Highs in the mid 50's. 

Sunday; Rain may change to snow before ending. Temps near 50 early will crash to near freezing late. Stay tuned!

 Another weak system will bring some rain and snow showers to the area overnight with little accumulation. The system will continue to impact the area on Wednesday with a passing rain or snow shower. More rain is possible on Thursday.

Wednesday; Mostly cloudy with a passing rain or snow shower. High 43. SE wind of 10-20 MPH.

Thursday: Rain likely. Highs in the mid 40's. 

Friday; Dry with highs around 40. 

New Year's  Day; Rain and wind likely. Highs in the 50's.

More Ice Possible

 Monday will feature a mix of sun and clouds and a breeze. Then a weak system will bring snow, sleet and freezing rain to the area on Monday night. It should dry out by Tuesday morning.

Tonight: Clear and breezy. Low 25. NW wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH. 

Monday; Mostly sunny with a high of 35. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Monday night; Periods of snow, sleet and freezing rain.  Lows around 30. Snow and ice may coat the ground in some areas. 

Tuesday; Becoming partly sunny. Highs in the low 40's. 

Wednesday; More precip likely. Highs around 40. 

Thursday : Sunny with highs in  the mid 40's.

 More precip is likely as the storm continues to impact the area. As temps fall close to freezing in Boston again rain will change to freezing rain and snow. A small accumulation is possible by daybreak.

Tonight: Rain early, then freezing rain and snow late. Low 32. North wind of 10-20 MPH. Total snow amounts of a coating- 1 inch. 

Sunday: Increasing sunshine and warmer. High 42. NW wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Sunday night: Clear with lows in the upper 20's.

Monday; Sunny with highs in the upper 30's. 

Tuesday; Sunny with highs around 40. 

Wednesday; A storm possible. Highs in the 30's.

An Icy Christmas

 Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for checking out my blog. A storm will bring freezing rain and rain to the area on Christmas Day. Freezing rain will last for several hours-even in Boston. A tenth of an inch of ice or more appears likely. North and West of Boston cold air could hold on much longer leading to ice most of the day. I suggest delaying travel  as ice will coat roads and sidewalks.

 A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for  all of the Boston area until 10 AM Christmas day. 

Boston forecast; 

Tonight: Freezing rain late. Low 25. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Christmas Day;  Freezing rain until 10 AM, then rain. High 38. North wind of 10-20 MPH early, changing to SE at 10-20 MPH. Total ice amounts of around a tenth of an inch in Boston. 

Saturday night;  More rain and freezing rain likely. Lows in the low 30's. 

Sunday; Becoming partly sunny. Highs in the low 40's. 

Monday; Sunny with highs in the upper 30's.

Tuesday; Sunny with highs in the 40's.

Snow Ahead

A weak system will bring snow to the area Thursday night into Christmas Eve morning. Temps should be in the 20's so it will stick to all surfaces. It should end by late morning. More precip is likely on Christmas Day.

Thursday; Mostly sunny with a high of 32. NW wind of 15-25 MPH.

Friday; Snow in the morning, then mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the low 30's. Total snow amounts of a coating-2 inches.
