Blizzard Warning

 A potential historic blizzard is on the way with feet of snow, winds to hurricane force and coastal flooding. The storm will arrive Sunday evening and last thru the day on Monday. The height of the storm will be on Monday. There will be whiteout conditions for several hours as snow falls a few inches per hour. Please stay at home on Monday and make sure all electronics are charged. 

Alerts: 
A Blizzard Warning is in effect for the Boston area from 4 PM Sunday thru 7 AM Tuesday. For blizzard requirement to be met we must have winds over 35 MPH, snow and visibility lower than 1/4 of a mile for at least 3 hours in a row. And I expect that to be met in the Boston area. 

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect further inland 

A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect for the coast 

Boston forecast: 

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a low of 22. 

Sunday: Scattered snow and snow showers. High 34. NE wind of 15-25 MPH.

4 PM: Scattered snow

7 PM: The steady snow arrives.

8PM-7 AM: Blizzard conditions. Stay off the roads! Temps in the upper 20's. 

7 AM Monday -3 AM Tuesday: Blizzard! Temps near freezing early will fall to the low 20's late. 

Dawn Tuesday: The snow finally ends. 

Snow Totals: 
18-24+ inches of snow: Boston and the south shore. Some isolated totals up to 30 inches! 

12-18 inches: North and West of 128. Parts of the Cape and Islands due to some mixing. 

8-12 inches: Further inland

Peak Wind Gusts: 

75 MPH: Cape and islands. Some wind gusts will exceed Hurricane force! 

65 MPH: The rest of the coastline-including Boston 

55 MPH: Inland

Blockbuster Blizzard Ahead

 A blockbuster blizzard appears to be on the way from Sunday night into Monday. The storm will bring heavy snow, high winds and major coastal flooding to the region. FEET of snow is possible along with hurricane force wind gusts along parts of the coast. Stay tuned for exact details as we get closer.

Sunday: Heavy snow and high winds. Lows in the mid 20's .

A Wintry Mix

 Another storm will bring a wintry mix to the region on Friday with a couple of inches of snow possible. After a brief break on Saturday we will watch yet another storm. This could be a big blizzard for the area if it comes close enough to the coast. Stay tuned for updates throughout the weekend!

Friday: Cloudy in the morning, then a mix of rain, snow and sleet in the afternoon. High 38. East wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Friday night :Wintry mix changing to snow overnight. Lows in the upper 20's. Total snow amounts of 2-4 inches expected. 

Saturday: Scattered snow early, then partly sunny. Highs in the mid 30's .

Sunday: Mainly dry but a storm could approach late. Highs around freezing.

 Thursday will be a  break from the storms with sunny skies and temps in the upper 30's. The next storm arrives on Friday with several inches of snow. A bigger storm is possible Sunday into Monday.

 Clouds will increase on Tuesday ahead of our next storm. The storm on Wednesday may start as rain, but then change to snow and amount to a few inches. The height of the storm will be Wednesday afternoon and evening. More snow is likely by Friday. \

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with scattered freezing drizzle and snow in the morning, then mostly cloudy in the afternoon. High 35. NE wind of 10-20 MPH. Watch for slippery spots in the morning.

Wednesday: Rain in the morning, then a mix of rain and snow in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30's.

 Sunday will feature increasing clouds along with highs in the 30's. A strong storm will then brush the area on Monday bringing some snow to the area. Temps should moderate a bit after the storm.
