A Frost Advisory has been issued for outside of the city center of Boston for tonight. As cold air comes in behind the front, Friday will be the coldest so far as temps struggle to reach 50 along with gusty NW winds. A warm front will come through the area on Saturday bringing the warm air back into New England. A shower is possible on Sunday as the warm front hangs around the area.

Some Showers Thursday
A strong cold front will come through the area tomorrow providing the area with hit or miss showers. There is also a chance of squall line coming through in the evening with heavier showers possible. Then, the coldest air of the season will come into New England on Friday as highs will struggle to reach 50. The first frost is possible in Boston on Friday night.

Super Typhoon Megi
Megi now has winds of 180 MPH with gusts to 220 MPH as it approaches the Philippines. It is forecasted to slam into the island of Luzon in the northern part of the nation later tonight. It is expected to dump 20 inches of rain and bring sustained winds around 150 MPH causing major damage. Evacuations are underway in that area as they face a serious situation.
As for our weather, it will be quiet with near normal temps. A front may approach the area near the end of the week bringing scattered showers.

Complex New England Nor'easter
A strong low pressure center will cross over the area Friday morning, bringing the Boston area heavy rain and wind. As the storm moves into northern New England the wind will shift to the NW and pickup dramatically- some gusts could pass 50 MPH Friday night. That will make temps drop enough so the rain will change to heavy, wet SNOW above 1500 FT in northern and western New England. 6+ inches of snow may accumulate there, causing major damage. But, I don't expect any flakes in the Boston area. However, up here in Plymouth a few wet snow flakes may mix in towards the very end of the storm.

Coastal Storm
A powerful storm will from off the Jersey coast and come right over the area early on Friday. The timing has sped up a little bit, so the heaviest rain will be Thursday night and Friday morning. As the storm moves into northern New England, winds will become stronger and rain will taper to showers. The wind will continue through Saturday, but clearing will move into the area.

Wet Tuesday AM
A weak storm will slide south of the area early tomorrow providing MA with a quick dose of rain. Then, I expect some clearing in the afternoon. That should help temps reach 60 in the Boston area. After a quiet Wednesday, a powerful Nor'easter will approach late on Thursday and lasting through Friday night. It is expected to hammer the area with heavy rain and wind gusts possibly over 50 MPH. Coastal flooding is also expected. Of course a change in the track would alter this forecast, but that seems unlikely. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer.

A nice Columbus Day
