Frigid Friday

 Friday will be a frigid day along with sunny skies. Saturday will also be chilly before a powerful nor'easter makes a close pass on Sunday. The storm now looks to just be a graze bringing light snow and wind to the Boston area with more snow towards the Cape and Islands.

Cold Days

 After the snowstorm dropped around 2 FEET of snow in the Boston area the cold remains. The next few days will all be below freezing and with a gusty wind as well. It will remain dry thru the workweek before we watch a powerful nor'easter for the weekend.

Tonight: Any flakes end, then clearing and very cold. Lows around 5 ABOVE. NW wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH. Wind chill values as low as 10 BELOW late.

Storm Update

A major Winter storm is ahead as an area of low pressure comes up the coast. It will bring heavy snow to the region from Sunday thru Monday. Up to 2 FEET of snow is possible in and around Boston. I highly suggest staying off the roads Sunday afternoon thru the night.

Sunday: Cloudy until 10 AM, then snow. High 28. NE wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.

Monday: Periods of snow. Temps holding near 30.

A blockbuster storm is on the way with heavy snow and strong winds. The snow will arrive by Sunday morning and fall heavily thru Sunday night. Well over a foot of snow is expected. And there will be blowing and drifting snow. Please stay off the roads Sunday evening and overnight.

A powerful winter storm will impact the area Sunday into Monday. It will bring heavy snow and gusty winds. Over a foot of snow is probable and some areas could approach 2 FT! The height of the storm will be Sunday afternoon into the evening and thru the night. The snow will continue into Monday.

Weekend Storm

 Thursday will be a brief break in the cold with temps in the 40's with sunny skies. Friday the cold air will be back and temps on Saturday will be frigid. That will set the stage for a major Winter storm. A high impact, long deration major snowstorm is a possibility. Stay tuned for more details over the coming days.

Tonight: Snow. Low 30. SE wind of 10-20 MPH. Snow may amount to an inch in some spots. 

Thursday: Partly sunny with a high of 42. West wind of 15-25 MPH.

Friday: Parlty sunny and windy. Highs in the low 30's. 

Saturday: Sunny and very cold. Highs around 12.

Forecast Update

 Clouds will increase on Wednesday as a weak system approaches. The system will bring snow showers to the region Wednesday night. Thursday will the mildest day of the next few with temps approaching 40. Then arctic air comes into the region over the weekend. And that could set the stage for a major Winter storm by the end of the weekend. Stay tuned!

Snow has arrived this evening and will continue overnight. A few lingering snow showers are possible into early Monday morning, but most of the accumulation will be over. After the snow ends more cold air will come into the area behind the storm.

 The storm appears to be tracking closer to the coast bringing higher snow totals to the region. A few snow showers are possible early, but the heaviest snow will arrive in the afternoon and last thru the night.  Snow may come down at an inch per hour at times. Several inches of snow are likely.

 Rain will fall overnight but end by morning. After a mainly dry day an arctic front will cross the region on Sunday evening leading to scattered snow showers and a gusty wind. Monday is chillier and dry and the dry weather will last into mid week.

 Areas of freezing fog will develop overnight leading to slippery travel in the morning. Scattered showers are likely in the afternoon on Friday with more widespread rain likely by Saturday. It should dry out for the Patriots playoff game Sunday night.
