 Another clipper will bring light snow to the area on New Year's Eve with a small accumulation of snow. It will remain cold behind the storm as well.

Freezing Rain Update

 Freezing rain will arrive this evening and last for a few hours before changing to all rain. A small ice accumulation is expected. The rain will last into Monday afternoon. Behind the front it will turn very wind and cold.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Boston area until 6 AM Monday.

Tonight: Freezing rain early, then rain. Lows near 28 early will rise to 38 by dawn. SE wind of 15-25 MPH. Ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch in Boston. 

Monday: Showers and turning windy late. High 48. SE wind of 15-25 MPH, shifting to NW at 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH late.

Ice Storm Ahead?

 There is potential for an ice storm Sunday night as a warm front lifts through. The precip will start as freezing rain and last for several hours before changing to all rain by the morning. Ice accretion is likely even around Boston. Temps should be safely above freezing by the morning, but still watch out for any icy patches.

 Friday will be a cold and windy day along with increasing clouds. Then a storm will bring snow to the area Friday night into Saturday morning. A few inches are possible. After a quiet Saturday another storm will arrive by Sunday night bringing ice to rain.

 Snow has finally begun here in the Boston area this evening. Now, snow will last for a few hours and may amount to an inch or 2 before ending. Wednesday will be windy and cold with scattered snow showers and those may coat the ground. A more impactful storm is possible by late Friday.

Tonight: Snow early, then partial clearing late. Low 32. SE wind of 10-20 MPH.  Total snow amounts of a coating-2 inches.

 A powerful storm will bring high winds, rain and maybe even a thunderstorm on Friday. Most of the day will be stormy, but the height of the storm appears to be in the middle of the day. As winds could gust over 60 MPH! Behind the font temps will crash and a freeze up is possible.
