A Powerful Front

 Tuesday will be the calm before the storm  with sunny skies and warm temps. Then a powerful cold front will bring, rain, some snow and damaging winds to the area Wednesday into Wednesday night. The height of the storm will be Wednesday night. Heavy rain and strong south winds will occur ahead of the front. Then as temps drop dramatically in just an hour or 2 behind the front, rain could change to snow. And NW winds behind the front could actually be a bit higher than winds ahead of the front. 

Boston forecast; 

Tonight: Clear with a low of 35. 

Tuesday; Mostly sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds in the afternoon. High 60. SW wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Tuesday night: Showers. Temps holding around 50. South wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH. 

Wednesday; Showers. Highs in the low 60's. South wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. 

Wednesday night: Rain that could change to snow as temps rapidly fall in just an hour or 2. As temps near 60 early will fall into the upper 20's by daybreak. Wind changing to NW at 25-35 MPH with gusts to 55 MPH. Total rainfall of 1-2 inches. And snow could coat the ground before ending.  

Thursday; Clearing and windy. Highs in the mid 30's. 

Friday; Sunny with highs in the mid 30's. 

Saturday: Showers possible. Highs in the 50's. 

Sunday: Showers  possible. Highs in the 50's.
