Storm Timeline

 Another powerful storm will impact the region on Wednesday. Snow will arrive by early afternoon and become heavy at times by the afternoon commute. It will amount to a few inches before changing to a windswept heavy rain. And the rain could lead to localized flooding by the Thursday morning commute. Also, the wind could  gust to 50 MPH in SE MA.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect NW of Boston 

A Flood Watch is in effect for the Boston area until Thursday morning 

A Wind Advisory is in effect SE of Boston 

Boston forecast ; 

Tonight :Partly cloudy with a low of 27. 

Wednesday morning; Increasing clouds with temps rising to 32. NE wind of 15-25 MPH.

Storm timeline: for the Boston area 
1  PM: Snow arrives. Temps near 32. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

2 PM- 4 PM: Mostly light to sometimes moderate snow falls. Temps rise to 34. 

5PM- 9PM: Heavy snow. Temps rise to 37. SE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

9PM: Snow changes to heavy rain in Boston-still snowing north of Boston 

Rest of Wednesday night : Rain continues to advance North and falls through the rest of the night. 
SE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH. 

Thursday ;Rain in the morning, then clearing in the afternoon.  Highs in the upper 40's. SE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH.
