Remains of Ian Forecast

 The remains of Ian will impact the area over the weekend. As rain will come up from the south into New England. Rain will fall heavily at times on Saturday. And the wind will gust past 40 MPH on Sunday along with scattered showers.

Tonight; Cloudy with a low of 48. NE wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Saturday; Showers in the morning, then rain in the afternoon. High 55. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Saturday night;  Scattered showers with increasing wind. Lows in the upper 40's. NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH. 

Sunday; Scattered showers and windy. Highs in the low 50's/ NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH. Total rainfall around an inch.

Ian's Impacts

 Our thoughts go out to everyone in SW Florida after major Hurricane Ian caused major damage. I hope everyone there has a speedy recovery. Now, Ian has become a Category 1 Hurricane again and will impact the Carolinas on Friday. After that Ian will climb the coast and bring us rain and wind this weekend. It is still unclear how far north the heavy rain will come.

Tonight: Clear with a low of 45. 

Friday; Mostly sunny in he morning, t hen increasing clouds in the afternoon. High 63. NE wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Friday night: Mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 40''s

Ian Update

 Major Hurricane Ian slammed into SW Florida today as a Category 4 Hurricane with winds of 150 MPH at about 3 PM this afternoon. Winds gusts up to 145 MPH produced widespread damage and power outages. And severe storm surge brought dangerous coastal flooding. In addition heavy rainfall caused inland flooding. Now, the storm will come off the Florida coast and may become a Hurricane again before hitting the Carolinas. By the weekend the remains of Ian will likely bring us some rain and wind- depending on the track of the storm.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low of 50.

Thursday; Partly to mostly sunny with a high of 65. NE wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Thursday night: Clear and cold. Lows around 40. 

Friday; Mostly sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds in the afternoon. Highs in the low 60's. 

Saturday; Rain and wind likely from the remains of Ian. Highs around 60. Stay tuned!

Hurricane Ian

 Hurricane Ian  has intensified to a Category 2 Hurricane with winds of 105 MPH as of 11 PM Monday night. Ian will slam into the Tampa Bay area with dangerous winds, waves and rain on Wednesday. Then it may come up the coast into New England by the weekend. Stay tuned!

Fiona New England Impacts

 Major Hurricane Fiona will pass to our east on Friday. However, it will be close enough to bring some wind to the area. But, most of the rain will stay offshore. And waves will crash into our shores most of the  upcoming weekend. The storm will go on to slam Atlantic Canada with Hurricane Force winds and flooding rains.

A High  Surf Advisory is in effect for the Cape and Islands

Tracking Fiona

 Hurricane Fiona is now a major Hurricane with winds of 125 MPH. It is expected to become a powerful Category 4 Hurricane over the next few days. The latest track sends it a bit further West than yesterday at this time. Impacts here at this point seem to be gusty winds and high seas on Friday. Stay tuned for any watches or warnings over the next few days!

Fiona Update

Hurricane Fiona is expected to become a major Hurricane on Tuesday. It will then head towards Bermuda and turn north from there. The latest track sends the Hurricane a couple hundred miles east of New England by Friday, However, a shift to the West is still possible. Stay tuned!

Hurricane Fiona

 A front will bring scattered showers and storms to the area on Monday. Skies will clear for mid week and then all eyes will turn to Hurricane Fiona. The latest track sends it offshore of  the East coast by late in the week and on to Atlantic Canada. However, we will need to watch any shift to the west because of the size of the storm. Stay tuned for updates throughout the week.

 A strong storm system will bring scattered severe storms on Tuesday. Some storms will produce damaging winds, hail and even an isolated tornado. Behind the front skies will clear and the humidity will drop.

Tropics Update; Hurricane Earl now has winds of 80 MPH and is expected to make a close pass to Bermuda as a major Hurricane. It is then now expected to turn east and out to sea. Meanwhile, in the East Pacific Hurricane Kay is expected to impact the SW US with wind and rain by late this week into the weekend.

By Tuesday an area of low pressure will ride along the front bringing more heavy rain along with a gusty breeze. Skies will clear for the end of the week.
