SPECIAL: 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season Forecast

 Another extreme  Hurricane season is expected this year. As water temps continue to run above normal-especially in the Gulf Of Mexico. And I expect landfalls along the East Coast as well. Last year here in New England we had several Tropical Systems impact us in different ways. This year, it seems we have an average chance of being impacted. 

Review of Facts ;

A  Tropical Storm (TS) needs winds of at least 39 MPH to become a named storm 

Hurricane Categories 

Category 1: Winds of 74-95 MPH

Cat 2; Winds of 96-110 MPH

Cat 3: 111-129 MPH (Major Hurricanes are Category 3 and higher) 

Cat 4; 130-155 MPH

Cat 5; Winds of 156+ MPH

Current Outlook; Watching a cluster of storms in the Gulf Of Mexico that may form a storm in the next several days. 

Boston forecast; 

Tonight; Any showers fade to clearing skies. Low 58. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Sunday; Mostly sunny with a high of 78.  SE wind of 10-20 MPH;. 

Sunday night: Clear with lows in the upper 50's. 

Memorial Day; Sunny and hot. Highs around 90. 

Tuesday; Showers possible. Highs in the upper 60's. 

Wednesday; More rain possible. Highs in the 60's.
