 A nor'easter hit the area today with heavy snow and strong winds. Snow piled up over a foot in the Boston area, but in other parts of the northeast  totals over 40 INCHES were reported!

Waltham, MA: 16 inches 

Blue Hill :16

Newton: 15

Peabody: 15

Dorchester :13.5 

Logan: 13.2 

Norton: 10

Vestal, NY: 45 inches

Ludlow, VT: 44 inches 

Peter, NH: 43 inches 

Andover, NH: 40 inches 

Laconia, NH: 39 inches 

Florida, MA: 31 inches 

Boston forecast ;

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a passing snow shower and blowing snow. Low 17. NW wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH 

Friday; Mostly sunny with a high of 30. NW wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Friday night: Clear and frigid. Lows in the single numbers! 

Saturday; Sunny with highs in the low 30's. 

Sunday; Rain and snow showers possible late. Highs in the mid 30's.
