Wild Wednesday

A sharp cold front will bring showers to the area Wednesday afternoon and evening. However, ahead of the front temps will rise into the 60's. Behind the cold front temps will be  held in the 40's on Thursday. And by Friday more snow is likely.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of the Boston area for Wednesday afternoon and night

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect south of Boston

Boston forecast:

Tonight; Periods of rain. Near steady temps around 38. East wind of 10-20 MPH.

Wednesday; Mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the morning, then showers with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. High 63. SW wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH.

Wednesday night: Scattered showers early, then clearing. Lows around 30. West wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and chilly for the Red Sox home opener! Windy with highs in the mid 40's.

Friday: Snow changing to rain. Highs in the low 40's. Stay tuned!

Saturday; More precip possible. Highs around 40.

Sunday; Sunny with highs in the 40's.
