Snow Update

Rain has started this evening in the Boston area and will gradually change to snow over the next few hours. The wet snow will continue into mid morning and may accumulate in some areas. After the snow ends, skies will clear and temps will remain cold. The weekend will also be cold, but it looks like a rain event at this point for Monday.

Alerts:
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect west of Boston until 9 AM Friday.

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Rain changing to snow. Low 32. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Friday: Snow until 9 AM, then increasing sunshine. High 40. NW wind of 10-20 MPH. Total snowfall of a coating-1 inch expected in Boston.

Friday night: Clear and very cold. Lows in the mid 20's.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and cold. Highs in the upper 30's.

Sunday: Sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 30's .

Monday: Rain looks likely. Highs in the low 40's.
