Nor'easter Update

Well the storm has intensified a little more than expected tonight leading to thunderstorms and damaging winds. The storm will rage for the rest of the night as bands of rain continues to come into the Boston area. On Thursday the rain will continue to fall, but it will taper off by afternoon. And the wind will continue to gust-especially during the morning. It will dry out by Friday, but the sun won't return until the weekend.

Alerts:

A High Wind Warning is in effect for the coast-including Boston until 8 AM Thursday

A Flood Watch is in effect for the Boston area

A Wind Advisory is in effect inland

A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for the coast for minor splashover

Boston forecast;

Tonight: Rain with thunderstorms. Very windy with a low of 50. NE wind of 25-35 MPH with gusts to 60 MPH.

Thursday: Rain in the morning, then showers in the afternoon. Still windy with a high of 57. NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH. Total rainfall of 2-3 inches.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows in the low 50's. NE wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with showers possible in the morning. Highs in the mid 50's.

Saturday: Partly sunny with highs in the low 60's .

Sunday: Sunny with highs around 60.
